Safe Babywearing with Slumber-Roo

Safe Babywearing with Slumber-Roo

In Spring this year (2010) several articles appeared in the national press concerning the safety of ‘bag style’ carriers which typically carry the baby low on the parents body, nestled in a deep pouch. Slumber-Roo do not sell ‘bag-style’ carriers which we consider unsafe, and we are delighted that at least one brand of these unsafe bag carriers has recently been recalled after years of lobbying by babywearing experts.

For further details on the recall of the Infantino Sling Rider visit: Infantino Page 1 & Infantino Page 2 although please bear in mind that there are still a number of other ‘bag-style’ carriers on the market, both new and used, that in our opinion, pose a similar risk of suffocation.

Slumber-Roo would advise you look closely at the product images on all sling advertisements and do not consider using any carrier that resembles the Infantino. For more information on the risks of bag style carriers plus lots of useful information, photos and advice for safe babywearing, visit the Babywearing Safety fan page on Facebook.

PLEASE NOTE: Parents should never, under any circumstances, use a ‘bag-style’ carrier with a newborn or baby under 4 months.
